DUE Friday 2/9 Descriptive Writing

DUE Friday 2/9 Descriptive Writing

1. Make a quick comment on last night’s blog assignment for everyone in your group. Quick means at least a couple of sentences, but of course write more if you feel compelled or see a reason to.

2. Re-write the descriptive paragraph that was looked at today in class (last night’s homework). Take into consideration the comments that were given in class (and on-line).

3. Post your rewrite on your blog with the following title " Revised D.P. 2/9"

PRINT OUT YOUR PARAGRAPH AND BRING IT TO SCHOOL.

Mr. Jana,

No one has commented on my writing piece on my "blog" or in class. What should I do, just post it again?

Kit,

I'm wondering why nobody commented in class. There was plenty of time for that. That is something to talk about in class, not here, so please remind me at an appropriate time.

I would just self-edit or ask someone at home. Better yet, ask one of your friends on our team to comment and edit. It's okay if they are not on your blog team or discussion table. I encourage all students to comment on people outside their blog group.

You know the piece that you had us put the link to the piece that you wanted us to get comments on. Well no one has commented on that piece. The link to my writing piece again is http://bdaviswantssuggestions.blogspot.com/

Mr. Jana,

I feel I am in the same position as Kit. No one has commented on my writing piece for Fahrenheit 451 Descriptive Writing and so I don't know what I should do. Should I just revise it on my own? And should I still print it out and bring it to class tomorrow?

Mr. Jana, I couldn't find Lishane's or RG's blog entries so I just commented on Martin's.

Brittany and Olivia,

My advice to you is the same as Kit's. Ask a friend to comment and in a worse case scenerio just do your best and self-edit, which of course is part of the revision process.

The blogging comments are just an extra layer of feedback, an opportunity to see what others outside your class table are thinking. The principal feedback was given today in class at your tables.

Olivia, you were not in school so of course I understand why you did not get feedback in class.

Brittany,

Thanks for letting me know. Let's talk more about it in class. Be sure to have a print out.
